Trade Example View Example
Risk Management Every trade has a pre-determined initial stop loss that is placed promptly after entry into a new position. As the market moves in the favor of the position, adjustments to the stop loss are made that reduce the risk on the trade or lock in profits incrementally. Also, there are two profit targets established on each trade.

The first of the two profit targets is called “Cobb Target,” named after baseball Hall of Famer Ty Cobb. This profit target is geared for hitting singles and doubles in the market, just as Cobb did during his career. Ty Cobb’s impressive lifetime batting average of .366 remains an MLB record to this day.

The second profit target is called “Aaron Target,” named appropriately after another Hall of Fame player Hank Aaron. Second only to Barry Bonds, Aaron distinguished himself as a home-run slugger with 755 home runs during his career. The Aaron Target swings for the fence by selecting more optimistic exit pricing. To accomplish this, when Futures Fastball takes profits at the Cobb Target it will also advise of an adjustment to the protective stop applicable to the Aaron exit strategy. As the market continues to move closer to the Aaron Target, the protective stop will continue to be adjusted until the position is eventually stopped out or the full profit is realized.

Both Cobb and Aaron targets may also be open-ended in cases where there is not a specific exit price level determined at the time of entering a new position. Subscribers have the choice of following the exit strategy of Cobb or Aaron, depending on their risk tolerance and equity situation. For subscribers trading multiple contracts, it is popular to follow the Cobb exit strategy for the first half of the position and Aaron exits for the remainder.
