What is Market Profile®?
Market Profile® is an auction market analysis tool that provides a graphical display of price and time information, exposing potential "value areas" for trading. Moreover, unlike any other trading tool, Market Profile® allows traders to see areas in a chart where a market has a very high probability to make a directional move—while at the same time giving traders ample time to prepare for these powerful moves.
First launched by the Chicago Board of Trade in 1984, renowned trader Peter Steidlmayer was a pioneer in fueling awareness of this methodology that was a prized possession of an inner circle of floor traders. The power of Market Profile® is indisputable, but understanding the practical application is to this day often misunderstood by even the most experienced traders...that is, until now. Through the Live Trader Training Room and proprietary Indicator Suite, trading with Market Profile® has never been easier.
What do I get as a member of the Trading Room?
Our Members enjoy unrestricted access to the trading room featuring a unique two-way Live Chat tool that allows questions to be posed direct to the trading coach throughout the training session. This provides a learning experience like no other as Member get immediate feedback to questions through on-screen demonstrations and audio commentary. This group setting allows you to learn from the inquiries of other like-minded traders as well. Most training sessions are recorded so even if you can’t attend live, you can learn from the on-demand “recast” recordings. Whether you are paper trading or actively trading, the Live Trader Training Room is sure to give you the advantage you've been missing.
Will I have to change my current trading method for this room?
Far from it. In fact, the Inidicators were specifically designed to “layer” on top of existing methods. We encourage traders to stick with their current trading methods while learning this new trading methodology and only when they are comfortable and competent with the new tools and methods to make a decision which of their prior methods are less effective and to stop using them—if at all. We encourage success and are not dogmatic in requiring traders to take an all-or-nothing approach. Our mission is to help you improve on what you are already doing.
What are the regular trading room hours?
The training room is open Monday through Friday from approximately 3:30PM to 4:30PM (Central Time). As in any classroom environment, attention span and mental sharpness are proven to decline exponentially after extended periods of time so that is why we keeping the focused training sessions to about an hour daily. This allows Members to focus on applying what they’ve learned during the regular daytime trading session. Private training and special events are scheduled outside of this time window.
What if I can’t attend during the training window each day?
No need to worry. Our unique “recast” feature allows you to watch previously recorded training sessions in our private archive. You’ll enjoy a similar experience of learning live but around your own time schedule. Obviously, viewing an archive recording does not allow for direct interaction with the moderator but it’s the next best thing.
What is the connection between Candid Commodities and TAS Professional?
Candid Commodities is a long-standing educational affiliate of TAS Professional, the original developer of the TAS Market Profile® charting tools. The companies are separate entities but work together to ensure that each trader’s needs are matched with the right Market Profile® charting package and training. TAS Professional focuses primarily on the education of professional and institutional traders while Candid Commodities serves as a retail distributor to individual traders worldwide. Please note that the content of the indicator charting packages may vary based upon the trading interface used by the trader.
What charting package is featured in the room?
While the Market Profile® Tools are available on a variety of reputable charting and trading packages, the trading room currently features Bloomberg charting. The look and feel of the indicators may vary by charting package due to differences in the interfaces and chart settings. Additionally, certain charting interfaces may have an expanded selection of indicators and the indicator names may be slightly different. However, the trading concepts and strategies on how to maximize the Tools remain the same. The key to becoming a competent Market Profile® trader is to develop your unique preferences for trade duration, market preference, and the interface you are most comfortable with (and that fits your budget, of course). Why are many of the price charts featured in a time delay?
Due to data provider and exchange restrictions, many markets may not feature real-time data in the training room. Many other trade rooms illegally disregard these restrictions, but Candid Commodities opts to be respectful of these provisions and preserve our reputation within the industry. It is important to remember that the purpose of the training room is not for you to receive guidance on the moderators “picks” but rather to develop into a self-sufficient Market Profile® trader. You’ll take the valuable lessons learned in the room and apply them to your own real-time trading.
Am I required to subscribe to the Indicator Suite featured in the room?
No, there is no prerequisite to become a Member of the trading room. Many of our Members use the room as a way to gain exposure to Market Profile® and see the power of the Tools before they decided to gain access to their own set of tools. The goal of the trading room is to help Members become competent and confident Market Profile® traders.
Can I place my membership on hold or cancel anytime?
Absolutely, no long term contracts here. If for any reason you decide that the Live Trader Training Room is not a perfect fit for you, simply email Member Services at Members@CandidCommodities.com a minimum of three days prior to your renewal date and there is no further obligation. Members may also opt to place their subscription on hold if they anticipate an extended time away from trading.
Can I chat with other traders in the room?
Typically, no. To preserve the quality of each Member’s experience, there is not chat permitted amongst attending Members. Trading is serious business and trader chat can often turn into distracting dialogues for other participating traders. Members do have the ability to submit live chat questions direct to the moderators and they will either communicate with you privately or may present your question/topic for the group. This is at the discretion of the moderators. Please be patient in awaiting a response from the moderators as they are often fielding numerous inquiries simultaneously. There may be occasions where group chat is enabled if the presentation or venue deems it important to the experience. Please note that the moderators reserve the right to issue warnings or ban Members who are disrespectful or disruptive to the training session.
